Dawn of WorldsThu, 01 Dec 2011 21:22:04 GMT
The world building game Dawn of Worlds, that we're planning to have a go at next late game, is available as a free PDF on the Legends website.
Current plan is to give it a go next week, and if that works out to gather the tribe as best we can for a big game of it at the end of the Month.
HPLHS release The Whisperer in DarknessThu, 01 Dec 2011 18:50:43 GMT
It's finally here, The Whisperer in Darkness is now available on DVD. A follow up to the awesome Call of Cthulhu produced by the HP Lovecraft Historical Society back in 2005.
Klingon Ship NamesThu, 01 Dec 2011 14:37:33 GMT
After sitting down with Klingon for the Galactic Traveller and The Klingon Dictionary for an afternoon, my fleet now has ship names. I'll get around to painting them on the bases over the next week or so.
Klingon language tip, change most verbs to nouns using wI', so toj the verb to deceive, becomes tojwI' or Deceiver.
Defiance GamesTue, 29 Nov 2011 11:08:01 GMT
I've now remembered where I saw those nice looking concepts for 28mm scifi troops. It was Defiance Games, who are now taking pre-orders for their first pack of USMC in space, due out mid January. Looks like £20 for 24 models, plus £4 intergalactic postage. Not bad.

Added a simple search tool to the site, click Search in the menu and use the box that pops down.
Dumping Flash on YouTubeFri, 25 Nov 2011 10:25:55 GMT
Some people are still getting the Flash version of YouTube videos embedded on this site, if that's the case you're still using the Flash version of YouTube, not the updated HTML5 one. If you're using a sensible modern browser (or IE9+) you've no need to suffer Flash on YouTube any more.
To be free of Flash on most YouTube videos, just follow the link and click on Join the HTML5 trial.
Dawn of Worlds for the Tuesday late gameFri, 25 Nov 2011 10:13:53 GMT
Taking a pause from Crom in the late game next week, to have a go at Dawn of Worlds, the world building game.
Depending on how long we take to roll through it, there may be time for some Crom afterwards.
Star Fleet ship name registryThu, 24 Nov 2011 11:13:57 GMT
ADB maintain a registry of all ships named in the Star Fleet Universe background and rules. So players can use existing names if they like, or avoid conflicting registrations.
Useful note for Harvey on what to do with that fugly Old Light Cruiser, some were used as Hospital ships, the USS Refuge NCC-948 and the USS Sanctuary NCC-949.
Also who could resist the USS Robert Mugabe NCC-713, USS Yassar Arafat NCC-802, USS Slobodan Milosevic NCC-824. And no one can pass up the chance to blow up the USS Prime Minister Thatcher NCC-855?
Latest Crom RulesWed, 23 Nov 2011 23:24:25 GMT
Lots of updates to Crom since BLAM, all gathered together in the Conan Hub at Matakishi's Tea House.
Especially useful are some Card templates. Event cards are under Scenarios.
Carrion Crown updatedTue, 22 Nov 2011 16:29:12 GMT
I'm slow off the mark but I have updated the Carrion Crown page, adding Martha (Dr Manda). Still haven't had a chance to grab sheets from Levi and not sure what's going on with Harvey.
I'll get Henric's updated stats on there as soon as I level up. Too late to be useful but before game time.

The new Trek-ish version of A Call To Arms, the starship combat game from Mongoose and Amarillo is up for sale now.

A couple more newly painted minis
First we have a Cyborg chap from MegaMinis, no idea what I'll use him for.
Then we have a new member of the Medjai, ready for some .45 Adventure games. Miniature from Artizan with a pistol from Warlord Games.

First ships painted up for my Klingon fleet, ten B'Rel class Bird of Prey frigates. Once I get the fleet properly organised I'll get ship names painted on the bases in Klingon.
Miniatures from Studio Bergstrom.
Dark*Matter is off for now, replaced by Lead Adventure of the WeekSat, 12 Nov 2011 15:14:59 GMT
Dark*Matter is over for now. So the late slot passes to David's Lead Adventure of the week.
There are plans for more CROM! following on the story from last week. (I've picked up more of the magic item dice so you don't need to skimp on the loot Dave.)
Continuing the Mummy adventures. Possibly taking those characters on globe trotting adventures.
Carrion Crown updatedSat, 12 Nov 2011 15:11:36 GMT
Updated the Carrion Crown page with the final version of Val/Grul. It's still missing characters from Levi and Harvey as they took their sheets with them.
