Green Elf shot the potion!
Dark*Matter is off for now, replaced by Lead Adventure of the WeekSat, 12 Nov 2011 15:14:59 GMT
Dark*Matter is over for now. So the late slot passes to David's Lead Adventure of the week.
There are plans for more CROM! following on the story from last week. (I've picked up more of the magic item dice so you don't need to skimp on the loot Dave.)
Continuing the Mummy adventures. Possibly taking those characters on globe trotting adventures.
More Return of The Son of The Mummy actionSun, 30 Oct 2011 19:04:08 GMT
Another game report, this time using the models and scenery we're taking to BLAM '11, thanks to Dave, is up now on Lead Adventure.
Addam may be upset by the lack of crotch shots.
End of Stargate, The Return of The Son of The Mummy next weekThu, 20 Oct 2011 23:01:49 GMT
Our end of season cliff hanger for Stargate in the books and we left the team stuck on a Wraith ship installing the Nuke while Atlantis comes under air and ground assault.
Next week it's The Return of The Son of The Mummy. Monster silliness before we begin Addam's Carrion Crown.
The Mummy game report up on LAFFri, 14 Oct 2011 09:26:50 GMT
I've finally sorted through the old photos of a Mummy game we had back early this year. Or was it late last one?
Anyway the all action report is up on Lead Adventure now.
The Return of The Son of The Mummy: The LootThu, 06 Oct 2011 18:33:58 GMT
Here are the two Loot objects our characters have to collect and the Ritual Altar for The Return of The Son of The Mummy.
Here we have The Dagger of Karis and The Casket of Souls. The Dagger is a key that will unlock the Casket and free Karis from his tomb.
And here is the Golden Altar where the ritual must be completed.
The Return of The Son of The Mummy: TeamsWed, 05 Oct 2011 19:04:08 GMT
Back in the mists of time, greedy Prince Karis murdered his father in an attempt to claim the throne of Egypt.
But Karis never sat upon the Throne, the Pharaoh's loyal guardians the Medjai discovered the plot and took terrible revenge.
The Medjai performed upon Karis the Hom Dai, a ritual to seal Karis away as the undead, forever alive but trapped within his sarcophacus.
And there Karis has remained, for 3,000 years.
Until the Treasure Hunters came and disturbed his prison.
Now four powers fight to decide the fate of Karis, and with him the world.
For he would arise a walking disease, a plague upon mankind, an unholy flesh-eater with the strength of the ages, power over the sands, and the glory of invincibility!
And here are our four teams, two of courageous heroes and two of dastardly villains, for The Return of The Son of The Mummy.
Descendants of those who served Prince Karis now seeking to raise him from the dead and return him to power.
The German Army are looking to wield the power of Prince Karis as a weapon, they seek to raise him and use him to conquer the world.
Guardians of the Tomb of Karis, if they can complete the ritual they can seal Karis away for another 1,000 years.
Treasure Hunters from the United States, it was their meddling that has awoken Karis' Guards. They need to complete the ritual to ask him where the loot is kept then send him back to the land of the dead.
The rules and scenario are all locked down and we're happy with them now. Changes from the last game made for a more exciting finish.
I'll post up some pics of the Objectives soon.
The Return of The Son of The MummyWed, 05 Oct 2011 15:44:29 GMT
We have a title for the game.
Still have to do fancier versions of the Event Cards, then the Team Cards and we're set.
The Mummy ProgressTue, 04 Oct 2011 12:06:12 GMT
Further progress on getting The Mummy ready for BLAM.
I've finished the counters and put together mock ups of the Event Cards. Still have the Unit Cards to do.
Painted a pair of DAK troops to replace the Germans we had been using, completing all the figures needed for the game. I'll get some pictures up of all the teams soon.
The Altar is completed, so all the scenery is done. I'm painting a new version of the Dagger on a desert base to fit in better with the scenery.
We'll get another play through tonight before Stargate, trying out the changes after last week game.
The MummyTue, 27 Sep 2011 10:57:14 GMT
The big guy himself, Prince Karis, The Mummy.
All Mummies are from the Gothic Horror range by West Wind.
The Mummy Progress, Mummies!Tue, 27 Sep 2011 10:43:46 GMT
After nine months of being lost in the brain, I've finally been able to sit down and paint again. So I'm back to The Mummy, with some actual Mummies!

The Mummy Progress, Campsite CompleteSat, 11 Dec 2010 02:27:47 GMT
Finished this a little while back but I've just got the pictures done. The completed campsite for the Egyptologists.
I've made a start on the Palm Tree Stands, I'll try and get some WIP pics of them up soon.
Donpimpom's MummyMon, 22 Nov 2010 18:37:11 GMT
Not progress on my Mummy stuff, but a great game report from Lead Adventurer Donpimpom. Great scenery and a great example of how I'd like our games to work out.
You've got to love a game with a Mummy called HipHopHep. :)
The Mummy Campsite updateSun, 21 Nov 2010 19:37:07 GMT
The WIP pics I promised the other day. First up, the second stand of Supplies.
The Tents, before paint and canvas.
The Tents have had some paint on them since this was taken. Hopefully I'll get the Canvas on them soon and they'll be finished by Tuesday.
The Mummy ProgressSat, 20 Nov 2010 20:06:42 GMT
Still no photos, but some progress over the last few days.
The second stand of camp supplies is painted and complete.
On the tent front, both tents are boxed in, with tent poles attached and the base is textured. Once the glue drys on the base sand, I'll attach the paper canvas and it will be just a case of painting them.
Once the tents are finished, that's scenery for two of three scenarios complete. Just the village to build and scenery is done.
I've still not picked up any Nitromors to strip and respray the other cultist minis. Depending on the bank I'll try and do that next week.
A Little More Mummy ProgressTue, 16 Nov 2010 13:40:43 GMT
I've made a little more progress on the Egyptologist's Camp, the second and final stand of supplies and a basic shape for the tents.
The tents will get a canvas of old newspaper, then texture the base and get it all painted. With a bit of luck the camp should be completed by the end of the week.
The Mummy and Kings of War updatesSat, 13 Nov 2010 19:38:46 GMT
A bit more progress today.
The Pyramid is now assembled and painted, once the glue dries I'll give it a little retouch to cover the joins. Should be completed on Monday. The two extra stands of ruins are complete. I'll try and get some pictures of the finished items up on Monday evening.
On the Kings of War front, I've got all the Skellies and Revenants assembled now. I've a plan to go all skeleton in the Undead army, drop anything fleshy like Zombies or Ghouls, just stick to Skeletons and Revenants for Troops, with Revenant Cavalry, Catapults and Skeleton Archers for support and a small cabal of Necromancers to keep everything moving, maybe a few Wraiths.
Heresy do a few minis that would make cool Necromancers. Sebastien the Apprentice Mage would be cool, as would the Dark Lord .
I'll try and come up with an Army List of about 1,000pts and think about working towards that as a core.
The Mummy progressFri, 12 Nov 2010 06:56:15 GMT
A little more progress on The Mummy this morning, the Pyramid and the two extra stands of ruins are now base coated in a lovely shade of chocolate brown, just the sand coloured drybrush to go and all the scenery painting is complete.
It will take a couple of hours to dry properly, so I could even get it finished this evening.
More Mummy ProgressWed, 03 Nov 2010 19:01:30 GMT
Good progress on The Mummy made today, all 20 stands of desert ruins are now finished. Also the Pyramid interior and props are all painted.
Miniatures wise I've made a start on the Medjai, but had a spraying disaster on the Scimitars, tried different brand of spray discovered it's crap. I'll Nitromors them and start again.
While getting all this other stuff done, I also painted up the Borkovan with Dalek Blaster, a special weapon for the Daleks invasion Borkova story that's going to part of a Series of Doctor Who games to steal the Late Game slot for a few weeks later in the year.
I'll try and get some photos taken soon.
Probably no progress tomorrow, unless I get on with a bits box dive to create a few Doctor Who objective markers.
Mummy ProgressWed, 03 Nov 2010 11:31:14 GMT
Work continues on The Mummy. All twenty stands of ruins are assembled and based, awaiting paint.
The Pyramid interior walls and small scenery items like the torches and sarcophagus are all assembled. I still need to cast a few more blocks to build the exterior of the pyramid.
Hopefully today I'll get started on the spraying.
The Mummy, a game for 2011Mon, 01 Nov 2010 20:17:28 GMT
I've started work on the first new gaming project for 2011, yes I understand I've jumped the gun here and it's still 2010 for a few more months.
2011 is the year of Desert terrain for us. Desert Islands for Pirates, Sand filled Arenas for Gladiators and Egyptian Pyramids for The Mummy. As a start, I've painted up a 3' board, now I'm working on a small Pyramid and a load of ruins to be Hamunaptra. Fourteen stands of ruins are assembled, with two more a work in progress.
Beyond The Mummy, this scenery is going to be used for Stargate, Doctor Who and Fantasy games.
Miniatures wise, I've got the Medjai (the guys trying to stop The Mummy) and the Scimitars (the guys trying to raise The Mummy) based up and awaiting paint. I don't have any actual Mummies yet, maybe next month.
Sadly, my camera is wanged, so no work in progress pictures, but I'll scrounge up Max's machine to get some shots of the finished setup.
