Yellow Warrior shot the potion!
No David on TuesdaySat, 20 Nov 2010 19:55:47 GMT
Dave isn't going to be about this week, so we'll have to do without the services of Rad Man and The Linnorm Slayer for a session.
As far as I know, both games are still good to go and we should be back up to strength the week after.
DC Adventures Quick StartTue, 16 Nov 2010 12:27:04 GMT
Something that could be handy for the game tonight, Green Ronin have posted a Quick Start version of the DC Adventures rules.
While the stats for Superboy and the scenario are of not much use, pages 2 and 3 have a fairly clear summary of the skills and combat system, clearer than the main rulebook as far as I can remember.
Also, important superhero adventuring telly to set the tone for the game is now up on 4oD.
Superheroes take on the late gameSat, 13 Nov 2010 22:39:21 GMT
Traveller is taking a break for a while and a new series of Superhero Adventures is taking it's place as of this Tuesday.
Levi is taking on GMing duties and we're using DC Adventures, based on the new edition of Mutants and Masterminds from Green Ronin.
So far our band of heroes is made up of Rad Man, David's Cyclist Gadgeteer, Meta Tag, my Parkour Practising Crime Fighter and Captain Fabulous, Addam's Disco Themed Defender of Gay Rights.
Harvey still needs to come up with a character. (You know you want to be Colonel of Truth, so you can outrank Addam)
Zombies as the early game tonightTue, 05 Oct 2010 13:08:34 GMT
No Mage this week, sorry about the short notice, that's my fault.
Instead we've got some Zombies to kill.
Also no Addam this weekTue, 14 Sep 2010 11:18:22 GMT
It's looking like a quiet night tonight, we've no David, Levi is training early and Addam isn't going to be up either.
Could be Zombies all night.
Zombies as our late game this weekTue, 14 Sep 2010 03:05:40 GMT
No GM for the late game this week, so unless someone has a great plan it's more Zombies!
Pistol for TravellerMon, 13 Sep 2010 14:34:38 GMT
Another weapon design for Traveller, this one takes parts from a Chinese Type 54, with a more scifi looking grip and trigger from a H&K USP and a Viridian Green Laser designed for a Glock.
Keeping with the Russian naming theme, this gives us the Tarasov 9mm.

Traveller WeaponsSun, 12 Sep 2010 21:30:34 GMT
I've started GIMP'ing together some weapon designs for our traveller games, as a start here is the Grosha Karabin Standart-9, a 9mm Carbine.

Mocked up from photos of PPSh-41 and a modern AK-103. Inspired by the Tommy Gun style drum and layout and a touch of SA-80 inspired green plastic.
I'll try and get a few more done over the length of the game.
Traveller: The Quantum Dancer updated againThu, 09 Sep 2010 12:03:28 GMT
Stats for the Air/Raft are now up.
Traveller: The Quantum Dancer updatedThu, 09 Sep 2010 00:25:13 GMT
Updated with player stats and gear, I need to double check gear with Harvey and get hold of Levi's character info next week to complete this.
I used the Civilian Vehicles book to come up with stats for a hydrogen powered Motorbike, so we can use the ship's fuel processors to run it like the Air/Raft and not have to carry an additional kind of fuel on our journey. Nothing crazy but still subject to GM's approval.
Next up will be getting the Air/Raft stats up there. But I want to get some sleep first.
The Quantum Dancer page now upWed, 08 Sep 2010 16:56:01 GMT
The page for the new late game is now up, I'll add more detail soon, but for now we've got the basic stats for a Type S, deckplans and homeworld/route UWPs.
I'll square up the modified stats for the ship with David and get them up soon. Along with current payload and account data.
Player stats and skills, plus vehicle, weapon and armour stats will all go up too.
Traveller: The Quantum DancerMon, 06 Sep 2010 18:19:38 GMT
The Search tool for the galactic sector used in the current late game, The Quantum Dancer, is up and working on the Traveller page now.
Also the game as a page on the all new David's RPG Wiki.
Traveller UWP Decoder UpdateWed, 01 Sep 2010 17:44:57 GMT
Just a quick update, the decoder was borking over system names with spaces in, all fixed now.
New Traveller Game: The Quantum DancerWed, 01 Sep 2010 10:55:52 GMT
Last night we got started with our new Traveller game, sorting out characters and homeworlds.
Set not in the OTU but a a galaxy of David's creation, we're setting on on board the haunted Type-S Scout, The Quantum Dancer to explore the edge of the galaxy.
I'll set up a page for the game to hold ship/vehicle stats and equipment for the group once we get rolling, but for now here are the homeworlds.
For Conrad (Levi )and Oleg (Gav) we have:
Labedad Alpha 0705 C482546-A S NI G
For the as yet unnamed Harvey character, we have:
Once I get the UWPs from David, I'll set up a galaxy search box for this game too.
Traveller Search Galaxy, proof of conceptTue, 31 Aug 2010 02:14:46 GMT
Another new Traveller tool for the website, it's a search tool to find planetary information.
Searches return UWPs you can click on to get a plain English description, they lead to the decode UWP page I update the other day.
You can search on any part of a UWP, most useful would be a planet name or remark. For example, searching for Green would return all systems with Green in the name, while searching for Ga would return all planets with Ga in the name and all planets with the remark Ga for Garden World.
This is very much a test of concept, it currently only covers a few subsectors of the Spinward Marches and Foreven Sectors. This will improve once I get motivated to enter more data, or talk David into doing some more of it.
As we create our own universes for Traveller games, I'll add search boxes for them too.
Tuesday GamesMon, 30 Aug 2010 22:06:05 GMT
Tomorrow we should be starting a new late game, David has plans for a Traveller game that should, all being well, become the new regular late game.
It's likely Jak won't be about for the early game this week, so it could be either a start to planning and character generation session for Harvey's Kingmaker (pathfinder) game, possibly with some Zombie action on the side, or just Zombies.
Whichever way about things end up, there are games running all night. :-)=
Traveller UWP decoder updated, now usefulSun, 29 Aug 2010 15:38:13 GMT
I've finally made the traveller UWP decoder useful.
It now has two modes of operation, you can access it with a link as before:
Emape 0103 B564500-B N I Ag Ga NI A G
Or just go directly to the page where you'll get a box like this one, where you can enter your own UWP and hit enter to decode.
As a bonus it now translates the remarks to plan text descriptions, to save you remembering what Ag and Ht mean.
I am planning more features, like a searchable database of OTU worlds, but all that is for the future. It's taken most of the year for me to drag my lazy arse back to this and add an entry box.
Congratulations Zak and Crazy!Fri, 09 Apr 2010 11:31:07 GMT
Congratulations to new parents Zak & Crazy, and welcome to the world the twin boys, Dexter and Vincent.
So gaming at Zak's is off tonight, I'm opening the bar here for drinks to celibrate.
Pathfinder: The Embassy, did all the new characters get a Trait?Wed, 24 Feb 2010 18:15:09 GMT
Just something else I remembered, did all the new characters pick a Trait? The little half-feat character details from the Character Traits printout?
If not, you're owed one!
You can download a PDF of the Character Traits rules from here:
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Resource Page
Pick one and check it with Jak, as some aren't being allowed, or may not fit the setting and I can't remember which.
Pathfinder: The Embassy page updatedWed, 24 Feb 2010 18:07:05 GMT
Updated the page for The Embassy, now it's become the early game and added all the extra players. Everyone who has levelled up already has their level 7 stats, saves and skills.
