Green Valkyrie shot the potion!
The FarStar updatedSat, 07 Nov 2009 11:56:11 GMT
Thanks to a reminder from Zak last week, I've now updated the FarStar page with all the current character info, adding Levi back to the page and including Addam.
We should have the Goths back this week however there is no David this week as he has passed the Astronaut selection course at NASA and will be away for a few days at the ISS. (part of that is not true)
The FarStar UpdatedTue, 18 Aug 2009 10:48:55 GMT
The FarStar page is all updated with the current stats of all the characters, other than Bow, I'll do that in the week once you've leveled up Crazy.
I've also removed any characters who aren't going to be making the early game, also everyone who is there now has a portrait.
So, we're all up to date for tonight's game.
No Zak and Crazy TuesdaySun, 19 Jul 2009 19:12:56 GMT
Just a reminder for the Tuesday people, Zak and Crazy are away this week so no FarStar game.
In it's place I'll put together another Doctor Who .45 Adventure.
As far as I know, The FarStar should resume 2009-07-28 and the hunt for Moff Sarne can resume.
What I Painted This Week: 8-14 July 2009Tue, 14 Jul 2009 12:29:00 GMT
New Bloodbowl Balls, from Heresy. Cheers to Jak who passed these to me when they came with his new Deathball Wights.
Next up we have some Villagers for our 'Nam campaign, these are 20mm minis from East Riding.
The Jawa Traders now have a finished spacecraft, a Lunar Lander, with one previous careful owner. This came from a Charity shop so I've no idea who makes it. The Sofa came from Black Cat.
Also from Black Cat is this Modern US Phone Box.
From Copplestone's KGB men, we have more Borkovan Smugglers, destined for our "The Wire" inspired Drug Dealers game.
Modern British Police, from Warm Acre, not great sculpts but the only up to date British Police minis I can find. These are destined for Doctor Who games.
This guy came from Artizan via DeSilva, a Mexican Bandit for some Old West gaming. Also like all other historical minis, perfect for some Doctor Who adventures.
And Finally. More Bottletop Barrels, continuing on with this project from last week. The big delay with making these is waiting on emptying bottles. :)
Another quite productive week there. Not sure what I'll get done next week, I'm hoping to get a few more Samurai characters, more Doctor Who characters, monsters and scenery as well as an X-Wing finished.
Started but not finished this week include Winston Churchill from Black Scorpion and more Dark Ages Villagers.
The new TARDIS still needs it's panels, the plan is to print some out and stick them on, so I can get the Police Box signs looking good.
What I Painted in Week 1 of JulyTue, 07 Jul 2009 12:12:17 GMT
My new plan, rather than posting each individual model I paint, will be to do a post a week with all the stuff I've painted. And with that plan here is week one of July.
More Dark Ages villagers for The Doctor or SGR to meet on their adventures. From Gripping Beast.
A Scruffy Ronin from EM4.
Another Dalek, this time it came from a board game found in a charity shop.
Star Wars minis from Wizards, the second Jawa is actually a Micro Machines Evil Emperor. The Cyborg in Gold had is gun removed, arm rotated and a briefcase built from parts of a 1:72 Huey Rocket Pod and a GW Imperial Guard Autocannon.
Here we have the latest additions to Weird Des's Gang, The Weirdos. Two Converted Heavy Weapons Men, based on a Slick from East Riding with a Minigun from an EM4 Robot.
Also new for the Weirdos are two Armed Launches, 25mm Armed Splinters from Old Crow, simply the best finish on a resin cast model I've ever seen, first class.
The remaining troops for our 'Nam NVA Platoon, all 1:72 plastics from Italeri.
From Artizan a pair of downed RAF Pilots, ready to be smuggled back to England by The Resistance.
Based on a great idea from Ironworker on the Lead Adventure Forum, Barrels made from plastic bottle tops. Dead simple and look good so I'll be making a ton more of these. Some are singles and some are grouped into stacks.
And that's all for this week, I've a few other things started including Nam villagers, a new TARDIS and a second hand spacecraft for the Jawas but I'll include them in the week I finish them.
Now it's time to finish setting up the Doctor Who game for tonight.
What I Painted In JuneTue, 07 Jul 2009 10:34:12 GMT
I've been working away on other projects and I've not been keeping up to date with posting the things I've been painting, so this is a catch up post and I'll get on with posting new stuff as soon as I can.
We have here Cybermen, Daleks, Judoon and Raxacoricofallapatorians. All from the now seemingly discontinued Micro Universe range.
Viscount Severn, Heir Apparent to the Earl of Wessex, aka Vic, one of our new TARDIS crew. The mini is Vincent from the Heresy SciFi range.
And finally, a Duros Explorer, a repainted mini from the ready painted Star Wars Minis range by Wizards.
All of these are headed for Doctor Who .45 Adventures.
More StormtroopersSat, 23 May 2009 15:12:40 GMT
A few more Storm Troopers for the Empire, a three more repainted Troopers and two more Scouts.
All are repainted Wizards minis. The Scouts have a little conversion to change the arm and head positions to make them slightly less big-hug-y.
The FarStar updatedTue, 05 May 2009 09:46:14 GMT
I've been a bit slow on this but the page for the FarStar game is finally up to date.
Wookies! we still need character portraits for you!
The FarStar Star Wars page updatedWed, 11 Mar 2009 18:43:33 GMT
Plenty of updates to the FarStar Star Wars Saga campaign page, I've been slow recently but I'm catching up on things. Sorry about that.
We now have portraits for everyone but the Wookie couple (come on Levi and Dave). I've added FarStar patches to everyone on the crew and updated the saves, HP and things for all the sheets I've got here. Once again I've missed the Wookies and Bow as you've all made off with your sheets to level up.
Dave and Levi, you can find some artwork for your character from The Star Wars Artists Guild, or paint a mini or sketch something, or a screengrab from a movie, cartoon or computer game, anything really.
I'll sort the trained skills out for everyone as soon as I can see the character sheets, or you can email me the details and I'll have it all together by next week (hopefully).
Zak's Star Wars: FarStar Mission LogTue, 17 Feb 2009 19:33:25 GMT
Well, the mission has well and truly begun. We received an emergency distress call from the world of Kolatill, directed at the new government of Kal'Shebbol and asking for emergency assistance. The people of Kolatill had risen up after hearing of the retaking of Kal'Shebbol; a brave but naive action considering the situation, and they have payed for that in Imperial retaliation.
Considering the situation on Kal'Shebbol I decided we were the only ship available to bring immediate aid to these people. Kal'Shebbol has informed me that emergency relief is being organised but is at least a week away from arriving.
And now we have been delayed by 6 hours due to technical problems with the hyperdrive. Captain Winter is concerned that it may have been sabotage, and considering the disparate nature of the crew I understand his concerns. But the New Republic is being forged by equally disparate people.
I have asked Kaiya Adrimetrum to look into making sure duty rotas have New Republic personnel spread as equally as possible with the volunteers, just to make sure we have reliable personnel at all stations at all times.
I hope to find better nav-data and some sort of lead as to where Moff Sarne has fled to, but from what I have been told the Kathol Sector away from the Trition trade route was barely mapped. This mission could take some time.
May the Force be with us.
Portraits and Training for Zak's Star WarsSun, 15 Feb 2009 11:25:48 GMT
I've updated the page for Zak's Star Wars to include the skills people are trained in, Crazy, David and Levi aren't covered as they've taken their sheets away to level up, if you could let me or Zak know before Tuesday that would be grand, if not I'll sort it then.
Also, to add a bit of flashy to the proceedings, I wanted to add portraits to the character entries. They don't have to be much, a sketch, a photo gimping, some art you found online, anything really. If it's on paper that's cool as we can scan it, if it's electronic that's cool too as you can email it to me.
A good place to start looking would be SWAG Online, the Star Wars Artists Guild.
Why You Can't Play An EwokTue, 11 Nov 2008 12:03:27 GMT
A special treat for Zak, a very detailed report on why you can't play an Ewok in the upcoming Star Wars Saga game. The Rebels murdered them.
Basically, the Death Star II was so close to the Forest Moon of Endor when it exploded, the debris would have devastated the moon and as such, almost wiped out the Ewoks.
So few Ewoks left the moon before the fall of the Emperor that they are practically extinct.
If you really, really must play an Ewok, there is still some hope.
Luckily, getting two Star Wars fans to agree on anything, even events in the films, is impossible. So, a counter argument has been made, in unspeakable detail.
The Truth about the "Endor Holocaust"
Thanks to the latest "Darth and Droids" for linking to these articles.
Twi'lek ScoutThu, 21 Aug 2008 10:42:50 GMT
Thinking about characters for a new Star Wars game Zak is planning to run, I had a browse of our local gaming shop for inspiration. Lucky me I found they had a few of this cool Twi'lek Scout for sale.
The game is to be set at the fall of the Empire, before the New Republic is formed. This character has a shady past, somehow getting hold of some Imperial body armour.
More 'Nam, More Star Wars, More Space WolvesWed, 30 Jul 2008 17:48:56 GMT
More stuff I've painted this month.
A pair of US Army Hueys for 'Nam gaming. 1:72 Italeri.
A converted Wizards Land Speeder. I removed the old Luke and Obi-Wan crew and gave the thing a nice metallic purple paint job.
Two Space Wolf Tank Crewmen, built mostly from parts scrounged from Harvey. Someday I'll be able to buy a tank to put them in.
Imperial StormtroopersTue, 29 Jul 2008 13:59:34 GMT
I wanted a good, dirty, in the field look to my Stormtroopers, rather than a perfectly shiny on the Death Star look.
Bigger pics on the Star Wars minis page.
Star Wars MiniaturesTue, 03 Jun 2008 13:05:28 GMT
The Snivvian gained a gold buckle to tie him in to the rest of the Rebels, while overall the crew gains an Arcona and two more droids.
Another Star Wars repaintSun, 01 Jun 2008 15:20:39 GMT
More crazy monsters for Star Wars games, this time a Snivvian. As well as a repaint, I replaced his weak and bendy looking pistol with a suppressed MP5, looks scifi enough.
Imperial OfficerThu, 08 May 2008 18:25:16 GMT
Another Star Wars repaint, an Imperial Officer.
I've got a small squad of Stormtroopers undercoated and based up ready to paint when I can face painting all that white.
The finished Twi'lekSat, 23 Feb 2008 16:43:43 GMT
My Twi'lek character all finished up, he had to be blue and I wanted his clothing to be very simple. All in black.
The droid is painted to to fit in with his master, black with a gold ports.
Star Wars repaints and conversions.
Twi'lek and partySat, 23 Feb 2008 15:10:02 GMT
Further progress on my Twi'lek rebel and his droid. His neck chain may become gold rather than red, I've gone off the red colour now.
The R2 will stay black, those white panels will be bright green.
